Clintonville, Wis. (April 7, 2014) – Seagrave will feature its new Apollo II 105’ Rear-Mount Platform at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis April 7-12, 2014.

“Our Apollo II is a four (4) section, 105 Ft. all steel ‘I’ beam constructed ladder mounted on a standard rear mounted straight aerial ladder chassis, which provides a shorter wheelbase and overall length for easy maneuverability in tight turning radius conditions” said Seagrave Chairman & CEO, A. Joseph Neiner.

The first Apollo II was built for the City of Bridgeton Fire Department in New Jersey. Bridgeton has the largest historic district in New Jersey with many turn of the century structures with narrow, historic streets.

Fire Chief David E. Schoch, Jr. said, “We looked at the conceptual drawings and knew that this truck would provide everything we wanted on our new Tower Ladder. Working from the ground up with all the folks at Seagrave and having input into the design of the tower was fantastic.”

“The Apollo II is a high quality, nimble ladder truck for communities with multi-story buildings and challenging road curves,” Neiner added.

Seagrave was founded in 1881 and is the oldest manufacturer of fire apparatus in North America. The Company has built a reputation for safety, durability and longevity in the most demanding fire departments across the nation. Product brand names include Marauder II, Attacker HD, Meanstick, Force, Apollo II, Aerialscope II and Optimum. For more information, visit fwdseagrave.com.
